Aegean Isles Showcase Leisure Offerings at Germany’s TourNatur Expo
As part of an ongoing strategy to promote all-year-round tourism, the North and South Aegean regions are participating this year in the TourNatur expo taking place in Dusseldorf, Germany, this weekend.
With the participation of over 5,000 destinations, the German expo, which kicks off on September 2, brings together service providers and professionals involved in hiking and outdoor activities. Participants will have the chance to find out about the latest trends in E-bikes and e-scooters, camping, climbing, trekking, and much more, and the South and North Aegean regions will be showcasing their alternative tourism options to more than 40,000 German visitors attending the event who are seeking new experiences.
“People of all ages from the German market are showing all the more demand for alternative forms of tourism. We’ve identified the trend and are working towards promoting to Europe’s tourist markets the alternative forms of tourism on offer on the Greek islands,” said South Aegean Region Vice Governor of Tourism, Marietta Papavasileiou.
Many of the Greek islands are now offering alternative tourism options including diving on Skiathos, rock climbing on Kalymnos, base jumping on Zakynthos and spearfishing on Syros.
