Full Moon Musical Evenings at the Acropolis Museum

Ttemporary exhibition: "Dodona. The oracle of sounds."

The Acropolis Museum has announced that it will celebrate this year’s August Full Moon with two special musical evenings.

On both Thursday,  August 18, and Friday, August 19, the Acropolis Museum will remain open from 8 am to 12 midnight (free entry from 8 pm onwards) and visitors will be able to enjoy the permanent exhibition areas but also the temporary exhibition “Dodona. The oracle of sounds”.

On Thursday at 9 pm the Acropolis Museum will welcome the renowned Swingin’ Cats in its entrance courtyard. The band that was loved as “Penny & The Swingin’ Cats” will take visitors on a Greek and overseas oldies and dance journey combined with an incredible stage presence.

The museum’s restaurant of the second floor and the ground floor café will both be open from 8 am to 12 midnight. From 8 pm onwards, other than the special dishes based on traditional recipes, the restaurant will present a famous jazz music ensemble. Musicians will include Spyros Rontogiannis on saxophone, George Tsiropoulos on piano and Christos Koromilas on contrabass.

On Friday the museum’s restaurant of the second floor will be open from 8 am until 12 midnight. From 8 pm onwards, visitors can enjoy dinner or drinks at the restaurant veranda listening to live harp music by Thodoris Matoulas. Also, once again, Spyros Rontogiannis, George Tsiropoulos and Christos Koromilas will perform jazz melodies at the interior area of the restaurant.
