Star Alliance Invites Bloggers to Spread the Word on its New Themed Itineraries
This summer, Star Alliance has invited seven international travel bloggers to embark on seven different “Round The World” journeys on its Star Alliance member airlines together with Marriott International.
Star Alliance has added themed itineraries to its Round the World product portfolio and globe-trotting bloggers Mark Wiens, Megan and Mike Jerrard, Justin Carmack, Scott Eddy, Michael Schulz, Karen Day and Oneika-the-Traveler will travel on one of the new themed itineraries and report on their journey.
“So why not follow Mark Wiens as he tries culinary delights across the globe or check out Megan and Mike Jerrard’s romantic journey. See how Justin Carmack takes a dive into underwater hotspots or follow Scott Eddy as he tastes wines on six continents. Michael Schulz is photographing architectural wonders while Karen Day is travelling on a whirlwind “Professional Gap Year” tour. Last, but by no means least, see which World Wonders Oneika-the-Traveler explores.” (For more details: http://www.staralliance.com/en/rtw-bloggers.)
Round The World: New themed itineraries all over the world
In addition to being able to create a journey from scratch, interested travellers can now choose from a range of Round the World themed journeys. These include: World Food, World Wonders, Architecture Hotspots, Nature Trail, Aquatic Wonders, Ramsar Wetlands, Natural Wonders, Great Hotels, Sports Hotspots, Wine Tasting, Romantic Journey and Luxury Lifestyle.
To facilitate booking for these new inspirational journeys, the Alliance’s online Round the World booking tool “Book & Fly” has been updated to allow potential travellers to choose the closest airport to their home as the starting point for their selected themed itinerary. The “Star Alliance Book & Fly” tool can be found on the Alliance website and is available in English, German and Japanese. It allows customers to plan their Round the World journey from the comfort of their own home, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Customers can also contact any of the Star Alliance member airlines or a travel agent for booking and purchasing a Round the World ticket.
Customers can build their own routings within the maximum mileage of the selected fare level. Travel needs to begin and end in the same country and be in one direction, either going East or West, although some zigzagging is permitted within a single continent. Both the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean must be crossed once.
Layovers of at least 24 hours must be made in a minimum of three cities and the overall itinerary may include up to 15 stops. Some Economy Class fares have a maximum of five stops.
