ITB Asia, to take place on October 19-21 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, will host workshops on mitigating the risk of business travel in collaboration with its first official medical and travel security partner, International SOS.

Organizers of Asia’s leading travel trade show say the first-of-its-kind collaboration will leverage its in-market expertise and global assistance network to educate ITB Asia delegates on the latest industry trends.

Delegates will learn more about the positive financial impact of preparedness and “Duty of Care”.

Medical and travel security risk services company International SOS will also share more about its planning and preventive program, in-country expertise, and global emergency assistance services.

“This first-of-its-kind partnership with International SOS demonstrates our continued commitment to encompass all sectors of the travel industry and create an optimal business environment for our delegates,” said Katrina Leung, executive director of Messe Berlin (Singapore), organisers of ITB Asia.

“People in the travel sector are particularly vulnerable to the changing political, economic and health conditions,” she added.

Prior to the event, participants will have access to an online platform and customised mobile application that highlights the latest country-specific health and security risks and have the chance to speak to International SOS medical professionals.

Meanwhile, ITB Asia also announced a partnership with CrescentRating, in efforts to provide insight into the growing Muslim travel sector.

Last year, the three-day ITB Asia fair attracted some 760 exhibitors from 73 countries, as well as 880 buyers and more than 10,300 attendees.
