Hellenic Seaways Sets Pace for 2016 with New Ship, Routes
At the eastern Attica port of Rafina, Greek coastal ferry operator Hellenic Seaways welcomed the Hellenic Highspeed on Wednesday, which is ready to serve the Rafina – Tinos – Mykonos – Paros – Ios – Santorini route this summer season.
As part of its ambitious expansion strategy, the shipping company invested a total of 2 million euros in the Ηellenic Highspeed – the first of three new vessels for Hellenic Seaways – which is returning to the port of Rafina after a three-year absence.
“We are proud to be launching this new ship with two more to follow: the Highspeed 7 and the Nisos Samos,” Hellenic Seaways A’ Vice President & CEO Antonios Agapitos said during the launch event.
“At Hellenic Seaways the guiding principle of our actions is to create the necessary conditions to strengthen tourism, local island communities, coastal shipping and thus the national economy as a whole,” he added.
The Ηellenic Highspeed was constructed at Perama shipyards.
In February, Greek shipping giant Minoan Lines acquired a majority stake in Hellenic Seaways.
