fedHATTA Spreads the Word about Offbeat Greek Destination ‘Tzoumerka’
Within the framework of its tourism action plan “Dodeka”, which includes the promotion of lesser known Greek destinations to the world, the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist & Travel Agencies (fedHATTA) recently visited Tzourmerka, in Ioannina, Epirus.
fedHATTA’s action plan “Dodeka”, which translates into “Twelve”) is designed to boost Greece as a year-round tourism destination.
Tzoumerka is the first offbeat destination to be promoted through the “Dodeka” initiative.
Representatives of the Federation recently experienced the destination first hand, toured the area’s sites and places of interest — such as the Kipina Monastery, Kalarites village, the Anemotrypa Cave of Pramanta and the Tzoumerka waterfall — and became acquainted with the local tourism professionals.
The travel agents’ experiences will now be passed on through “Dodeka” and contribute to the destination’s promotion.
“This first visit to the alpine landscapes of Greece launches a series of corresponding actions that will be promoted”, the federation said in an announcement.
During their stay, fedHATTA’s representatives resided at Xenion, Anavasi, Orizontes and Agathi accommodation units. Maroulis Travel provided the coaches for the transfers of fedHATTA’s representatives.
