Greek Tourism & Trade Center Opens in Warsaw, Poland

noth_events_greek_center-2903-2016Greece’s identity and branding for the tourism industry and exported products will be strengthened in Poland, thanks to the recent opening of the Greek Tourism & Trade Center in the commercial center of Warsaw.

The opening of the Greek Tourism & Trade Center is a private initiative of Greek-stationed company Future Need in cooperation with tourism consultants North Events and aims to give Greece a permanent presence in the Polish market and promote its tourism, local products and gastronomy.

According to North Events, the Greek Centre will operate 365 days a year as a modern information provider for the Polish public, businesses and organizations on Greece’s tourism destinations, services, businesses and products. Among the centre’s main objectives is to boost communication between Greek and Polish sides to develop partnerships and synergies.

According to data, Poland is the eighth largest economy in the European Union and the 21st largest worldwide (on annual GDP) counting almost 39 million potential consumers. In addition, the economic growth rate in Poland is among the fastest growing in Europe as it has a strong domestic market, low private debt and monetary flexibility.

“For Greece, both the tourism and the product industries are enjoying considerable growth in Poland and have the potential to achieve even higher growth prospects”, North Events said.

In 2015, Polish visitors to Greece exceeded 700,000, recording an overall increase of 50 percent from 2013-2014. Respectively, in the 2009 – 2014 period, the Greek exports industry exceeded 300 million euros, registering a 60 percent increase. Main export products include fresh fruits, cheeses, fresh fish and steaks and olive oil.

Apart from its informative character and role, the Greek Tourism and Trade Center will plan and organize promotions and advertising programs, events and presentations and specialized campaigns for tourism and food / products.  The centre will also run an up-to-date press office.

Among the centre’s most important activities is the year round support and coordination of the exhibition events Grecka Panorama and The Greek Food Festival, which this year will take place on December 2-4 at the National Stadium Warsaw PGE NARODOWY.
