Greece’s International Aviation Conference 2016 Kicks Off April 7
Representatives of the Greek aviation sector are getting ready to attend the 10th Aviation – Present and Future conference to take place this Thursday, April 7, in Athens.
The conference will bring together experts and consultants from the ministries of Transport and Finance, the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, the Civil Aviation Authority, airlines of Greece and abroad, unions and scientific bodies and experts of aviation topics and specialized journalists.
The 10th Aviation – Present and Future conference will take place at 10am in the amphitheatre of the Greek Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks.
The first session of this year’s conference will focus on the ex-Olympic Airways‘ technical base at Athens International Airport. A preliminary study will be presented regarding the use of the existing O.A. technical base, which today stands inactive.
During the second session, experts will discuss issues concerning social entrepreneurship in the aviation sector. The session will include a full presentation of the institutional framework, priorities and financial programs of the Social Economy.
The purpose of the conference is to explore the legal, scientific and economic sides of public and private air transport in the context of EU rules and international practice in order to develop the market to the benefit of the public interest and entrepreneurship.
Minister of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks Christos Spirtzis will open the conference. The event will be attended by politicians and experts of the aviation sector including Adonis Georgiadis, New Democracy Vice President; Dimitris Kammenos, MP ANEL; Yiorgos Zisimatos, Advisor to the Minister of National Defence; Fokion Zaimis, President iForce Communications; John Siriopoulos, Police Captain and President of the the Union of Pilots and Flight Crew of the Security Forces and Public Sector of Greece (PEIPSADY); Yiorgos Tsiprianis, second Vice President of the Panhellenic Pilots Union; and Fred Bruggeman, Secretary General, Aircraft Engineers International.
The annual international conference is organized by iForce Communications and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks in Athens in cooperation with the PEIPSADY and the Hellenic Pilots Association.
This year, the conference is supported by the Federation of Civil Aviation Unions, the Association of Graduate Aircraft Technicians of Olympic Airways and the Association of Civil Aviation Pilots.
