Western Greece Region Teams Up with SETE for Tourism Promotion
The Region of Western Greece agreed this week to cooperate with the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) towards the design and implementation of a far-reaching promotional strategy for the 2016-2017 period of the area’s tourism offerings.
With view to boosting the local economy and placing Western Greece destinations on the international tourism map, regional authorities commissioned SETE to draw up a long term strategy which will focus on tapping into EU funds for tourism growth through current National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) programs.
“As part of the promotional plan, we can include the regions productive activities, its vast cultural legacy which centers on Ancient Olympia, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, but also the culture, religious monuments and natural sites in the territory of Western Greece,” said Deputy Prefect for Development and Entrepreneurship, George Angelopoulos.
