Participants will gain insight into sustainability issues related to tourism in Europe and globally, useful sector contacts, solutions to improve the sustainability of their own business, information on sustainable destinations and ideas about marketing sustainable tourism.

Issues on the GSTC weeklong meeting agenda include: sustainability standards, GSTC industry criteria and the results from the relevant public consultation process, sustainable destinations criteria and best practices in Europe as well as tools and methods for marketing sustainable tourism.

A post-event tour to nearby locations featuring best practice in sustainable tourism will be an available option on the sidelines of the meeting, which is organized by GSTC CEO Randy Durband (US) and GSTC technical director Guy Chester (US) together with GSTC country representatives Dr Ioannis Pappas (Greece), Mary Mulvey (Ireland) and Susana Conde (Spain).

Through innovative technical and financial services, Green Evolution (GE) aims to help in the creation of a sustainable and secure future based on a carbon-neutral model where individuals and firms make their own contribution. GE CEO is the GSTC country representative of Greece.
