Cyprus’ Tus Airways Launches, Flights to Greece Planned
Cypriot carrier Tus Airways has officially launched and will commence the operation of its flight schedule on February 14 with services to Larnaca from Tel Aviv, it was announced this week.
Based at Larnaka International Airport and founded in June 2015, the new airline aims to connect Cyprus with neighboring countries, including Greece, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon and Jordan. Τhe new carrier comes to fill in after the collapse of Cyprus Airways one year ago.
Tus Airways will operate seven weekly flights to Larnaca from Tel Aviv every Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday.
Flights from Haifa and Heraklion, Crete, to Larnaca will begin on February 18 and March 28, respectively. Flights from Rhodes are expected to launch in April.
During the summer, Tus Airways plans to gradually add more charter flights to the Greek Islands of Kos, Samos and Karpathos.
The company’s initial target is to offer flights from Cyprus to a total of 16 destinations.
The name of the airline stands for “The Ultimate Schedule”. “Tus” also means “to fly” in Hebrew.
