Greek Seamen Announce New 48-hour Strike, No Ferries on Jan 27-28

The Pan-Hellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) on Thursday announced a new 48-hour strike on January 27 and January 28, 2016.The Pan-Hellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) on Thursday announced a new 48-hour strike on January 27 and January 28 stating that the Greek government is “uncompromising”. PNO is protesting the social security reform.

Ferry boats in Greece will not be in service from 6am on Wednesday, January 27, until 6am on Friday, January 29.

The news came during the federation’s January 20-21 strike.

The Greek Seamen have also decided to participate in the 24-hour strike called by the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE) on February 4.
