US Airways Out of BSP System as of Dec 31 Due to Merger with American Airlines
US Airways has notified its partner travel agents that it will withdraw its membership from all BSP (Billing Settlement Plan) systems with effect from December 31 due to its merger with American Airlines.
According to a letter US Airways sent its partners, agencies may request refunds on existing US-037 tickets, either partially or wholly unused.
US Airways was a major American airline that merged with American Airlines on October 17, 2015.
Since the merger, all of the combined carrier’s flights are operated by American Airlines and carry American flight numbers.
Passengers will continue to see aircraft in the US Airways livery through the end of 2016 and unified cabin crew uniforms will not be rolled out until sometime late next year.
