Athens Concert Hall Ushers in the Holidays with Music & More

Cirque Éloize’s iD is a blend of circus arts and urban dance: b-boying/b-girlin, breakdance and hip-hop.
There’s no doubt about it… ’tis the season to be jolly and the Athens Concert Hall (aka Megaron Mousikis) is ready to set the festive mood with a series of Christmas and New Year’s events for all ages and tastes. So throw on your finest clothes and off to the Megaron you go…
A full-scale ice rink is all about enjoying Christmas in true fitness style. Open through to February in the Megaron atrium, the 375m2 ice rink offers fun for the whole family… lessons, and for those not so keen on skating, snacks and hot chocolate.

The Megaron once again brings in the New Year with a festive concert dedicated to opera. Favourite melodies and famous arias played by the State Orchestra with a dazzling cast of singers, under the baton of Alkis Baltas.
Elsewhere in the Megaron, concerts including Handel’s Christmas favorite “Messiah”, the Cirque Éloize in action with “iD”, traditional shadow puppet theater “Karaghiozis’ Christmas in Vienna”, the Moscow Classical Ballet in Don Quixote, a “Jazzy Christmas” with the City of Athens Big Band and, of course, in true end-of-year style, the New Year’s Concert Opera Gala are just some of the events planned for this joyful season.
