KLM Announces Five New Destinations in Europe
In summer 2016 KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will expand its medium-haul network with scheduled service to five new destinations: Southampton and Inverness in the UK, Dresden in Germany, Genoa in Italy and Valencia in Spain.
Travellers can now choose a total number of 76 European destinations that KLM operates directly from Amsterdam.
Flights to Genoa will launch on April 22, to Valencia on April 23 — only on Saturday and Sunday (as of May 16 daily), to Dresden and Southampton on May 16 and to Inverness on May 17.
In total KLM will add up to 700,000 seats (five percent growth) to European destinations next summer.
“We aim to develop our European network so that we can offer more direct flights to and from Amsterdam and more and better connections via Schiphol… The new destinations are relevant to our hub and to our position in the local markets”, said KLM President & CEO Pieter Elbers.
KLM also announced that as of February 1, 2016, it will cease operations to Köln in Germany. Passengers from the Köln and Bonn area can still be accommodated on KLM operated flights to/from Düsseldorf.
