2016 marks yet another year of participation for the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) at the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT). The event will take place on March 23 – 26, 2016 in Moscow, Russia.

MITT_1Greece will exhibit with its leading operators and a large presentation of the country’s attractive regions. As a result of a recent bilateral agreement between the two countries, next year will be the “Year of Greece” in Russia and the “Year of Russia” in Greece. Special events will take place across both countries to promote Greece and Russian culture, traditions and values.

“It is a very special year for us and for Greece in Russia. Many Greek heritage items from the ancient to modern times will travel to and across Russia to be shown to our Russian friends”, Polykarpos Efstathiou, Director of the GNTO in Russia and CIS, said.

“It is not just exhibitions or theatre shows, it is a warm welcome to all of the Russian citizens to travel to Greece – a home to our common values and a safe destination for all”, Mr Efstathiou added.

“Welcome Home”

The “Welcome Home” motto will be used to promote the “Year of Greece” in Russia. The motto is part of a philosophy that all Greeks share and is an invitation for visitors to indulge in Greek culture in Moscow.
