A new campaign that will promote Athens internationally in 2016 will launch soon, according to an announcement made by Athens International Airport (AIA) CEO Yiannis Paraschis on Thursday, November 19.
Speaking during AIA’s 3rd Airport Chief Executives’ Symposium (ACES – Athens) and in the context of initiatives undertaken each year by the airport for the promotion of Athens, Mr Paraschis gave guests a sneak peek of the new, inspired campaign named Speak AΘenian. Be an AΘenian.
“Continuing on the success of the City Pair initiative and the ‘Perhaψ You’re an Aθenian too’ campaign, this year we invite travellers to express themselves like modern Athenians combining in a fancy way some well-established Greek classical terms and ideals with contemporary international language”, Mr Paraschis said before playing a short video of the new campaign.
Like AIA’s previous campaign, the new initiative includes messages with letters of the Greek alphabet mixed with English words.
The campaign will be launched in the next few weeks by AIA and Marketing Greece and Athens will go viral via social media and the hastag #ImAnAthenian.
