More than Just a City or a Break: This is the Athens World!

Visitors picking up their “This is the Athens World!” wristbands at at Athens International Airport.
Over 7,000 wristbands, 400 photo posts and dozens of bloggers from six countries brought Athens to the world on United Nations’ World Cities Day on October 31.
An initiative of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) with the support of the Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) and Athens International Airport (AIA), “This is the Athens World!” gave visitors and residents a chance to learn more about the Greek capital through a series of events, happenings and activities.
By wearing the special wristband for the occasion, participants had a chance to sample Greek delicacies, experience Greek night life, dance the swing, and much more with organizers aiming to get the point across: a weekend is just not enough to get a taste of Athens, a city break though can do wonders.
Bloggers from Germany, the UK, Austria, France, Portugal and Spain got the word out: This is the Athens World!
