The Region of Western Macedonia is a destination of particular interest, with a range of many images, which enable the development of alternative forms of tourism throughout the year. For the Region of Western Macedonia, the tourist product is recognized as an important development tool, a tool which will help to form a new identity (for the Region).
In this context we endorse a strategy that exploits the tourist advantages of Western Macedonia.
One with specific strategic objectives, precisely detailed and targeted actions in relation to the areas of infrastructure, promotion and exploitation of European and transnational programs. Our goal is to offer a distinct, attractive and “authentic” tourist product. One which will represent the identity of the region, feature its images while certifying quality in the experience of leisure and recreation.
Over time, with the cooperation and coordinated actions with all our partners in the public and private sector, either directly or indirectly, we believe that it is feasible to make the Region of West Macedonia a the twelve-month tourism destination. Our aim is to tone down the period of the tourist season and gradually extend it by diversifying our tourist package.
With this in mind as well as the term of sustainable management, we intend to make the region more appealing, enhance its openness and moderate its intra-regional disparities.
With this perspective we participate in Philoxenia 2015 International Tourist Exhibition and we wish it every success.
