Greece Wants to Make Life Easier for Foreign Investors
Greece will simplify the “fast track” law in order to attract foreign investment, according to an announcement made by Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Mardas during his speech at parliament on Tuesday.
“We will follow a policy which will bring our country closer to businesses in their own countries, we will visit the countries and not organize ‘fiestas’ to present Greece’s financial data”, he said and added that the ministry will aim to improve the time period for foreign investment approval.
Moreover, Mr Mardas noted that besides investments and exports, the ministry will focus on developing spa tourism and conference tourism.
“There is a thought to turn an island – that a research team has named the ‘island of art and philosophy’ – into a summer Davos, where all the countries that want to build a lodge to serve their conference tourism needs and more, will be invited.”
