‘No Need to Cancel Just Plan Ahead’, CNT Tells Holidaymakers to Greece
Luxury travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler has advised those traveling to Greece to plan carefully, adding that the closed banks and withdrawal restrictions at the country’s ATMs will in no way affect them.
Published on Monday, Conde Nast Traveler’s story titled “Traveling to Greece? Here’s What You Need to Know” cites the State Department’s recent travel alert, which does not recommend canceling holiday plans but instead suggests caution and fine planning.
Conde Nast Traveler spoke with travel specialist Ileana Von Hirsch of the Five Star Greece luxury villa rental company, who advised her clients to have cash handy and recommended exchanging currency at airports before arriving in Greece.
The international travel magazine also cites Ronnie Liadis of Pennsylvania-based tour operator Liadis Travel, who adds that “all guests holding cards issued by non-Greek banks will be able to withdraw money from the ATMs normally and without any limit, in order to serve their everyday needs”.
