Lufthansa Resumes Flights to Crete After 10-year Break
Germany’s Lufthansa on Saturday resumed direct flights between Munich and Heraklion, Crete, a decade since they were stopped.
The re-emergence of the Munich-Heraklion route shows Lufthansa’s confidence in Greek tourism, an announcement by the German carrier read.
The first Lufthansa flight to the Cretan city in 10 years landed at Nikos Kazantzakis Airport on May 23 with 162 passengers on board who received a very warm welcome from local authorities.
Lufthansa flights to Heraklion will take place every Saturday from Munich at 8:30am and at 1:20pm from Heraklion.
The Munich-Heraklion route is seasonal and will operate until October 24.
