Creta Maris Marks 40 Years of Hospitality, Quality Services in True Cretan Style

Art shows, concerts, parties and traditional happenings in true Cretan style were at the centre of weeklong celebrations for Creta Maris’ 40-year anniversary.

Over 800 guests joined the partners, friends and family of Nikos Metaxas on May 1-8 to commemorate four decades of hospitality and quality services focusing on the traditions of Crete, with song, dance and art events culminating with a gala dinner featuring Cretan delights and a big birthday cake.

As part of its social responsibility efforts, during the events, the hotel organised a two-day art exhibition, where over 60 works were sold proceeds of which were donated to the Association of Friends of Children with Cancer “Elpida”.

Founded by Nikos Metaxas in 1975, the family-owned business has since offered visitors to the island the finest services and the most memorable experiences of local culture, cuisine and hospitality.

The Creta Maris Beach Resort, part of the Metaxas Group of Companies, has operated since 1975 with a capacity of 680 rooms, suites and bungalows, six restaurants, seven bars, seven swimming pools, a gym, spa, children’s facilities, conference hall, and a great space for outdoor and indoor activities.

Besides a series of “firsts” including being the first hotel in Greece in 1995 to obtain the ISO 9001 International Quality Certificate, the Creta Maris is also among the few enterprises in the country to accommodate golfers with one of the largest golf courses in Greece.

Meanwhile, the hotel actively supports the local community by providing 92 percent of its positions to locals, and is always seeking new ways to enhance the tourism experience by annually reinvesting approximately 20 percent of its yearly turnover in upgrades and modernization.
