China’s Hainan Airlines Gaining Ground

Hainan_Airlines_787Hainan Airlines is gaining ground against its competitors with a comprehensive international expansion plan that includes the acquisition of 37 new jets and deals with General Electric and Rolls-Royce for engines to power the 30 Boeing 787-9s it plans to order, the media reported.

The fleet expansion is due to be completed in 2018.

Based in Haikou, Hainan Airlines is the People’s Republic of China fourth-largest carrier now operating 19 weekly flights between China and Europe.

In 2012, Hainan Airlines, the exclusive Skytrax 5-star carrier in mainland China, added Greece and Cyprus to the countries where Discover the World handles its sales and marketing development. Discover already represents this airline in France, Italy and the United Kingdom.

Boasting an extensive network across the People’s Republic of China, the carrier connects Asia, Europe, America and Africa, operating over 500 domestic and international routes to more than 90 destinations.
