After posting losses due to bureaucratic delays in its Greek five-star-plus project to be developed on the island of Crete, Minoan Group, active in travel and leisure, announced plans to expand its Stewart Travel services across the UK with additions to its 11 outlets already operating in Scotland and its new shops in Belfast and Nottingham.

With regard to the Crete resort, the Scotland Herald reported that the final presidential and government signatures are expected in the next couple of weeks.

Minoan is planning a luxury holiday resort on a 26km2 site at Cavo Sidero on the island of Crete. Valued at approximately 100 million euros, the holiday retreat will include homes, golf courses, a marina, a conference center and other high-end facilities.

The Glasgow-based group, which opened in England and Northern Ireland for the first time, owns and operates a number of travel agencies, and also operates a resort development division currently working on the Crete luxury resort project.
