Athens Makes an Impression at LA Travel & Adventure Show
Athens won over the crowds at this year’s Los Angeles Travel & Adventure Show held at the Long Beach Convention Center on February 27-28, as part of the municipality’s efforts to promote the Greek capital as a primary tour destination.
In this direction, the Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) in collaboration with the municipality’s Development and Destination Management Agency and the European Tour Operators Association (ETOA) participated with their own stand while Greek sector representatives held some 45 B2B meetings with US tourism professionals.
In the meantime, show participants were also informed of the Travel Trade Athens 2015 Workshop scheduled for April 26-27, as well as of award-winning interactive platform Athens Destination Specialist Program, which provides online training to travel industry professionals, conference organizers (PCO’s), travel bloggers and media on how to effectively promote Athens to their clients and audiences.
Some 33,484 visitors, 981 tour operators and 194 journalists attended the 10th Los Angeles Travel & Adventure event, making it one of the largest industry shows in the US.
