Greece’s largest carrier Aegean has boosted its UK routes to Greece and Cyprus with two new direct flights from London to Larnaca and Iraklio, Crete.

A Star Alliance member, Aegean announced that flights to Larnaca will depart from Heathrow daily as of March 29, while routes to Iraklio will be departing from Gatwick starting June 21st with up to six flights a week. Passengers, it said, will receive complimentary food and drink.

Aegean said it would also upgrade its summer flight schedule to Athens from Birmingham airport to an all-year-round service.

With a fleet of 56 aircraft, Aegean covers some 134 destinations providing since 1999, full service, short and medium haul flights. Aegean has been awarded by Skytrax, as the best European airline for 2014. It has held the award five times in the last six years.

In its latest innovation, the Greek airline has launched online video contest “Aegean Traveller” featuring restless vacationers wishing to discover new destinations and alternative travel experiences.
