Pros of Greek Marine Tourism Presented at Düsseldorf Boat Show
The advantages of Greece’s marine tourism were at the center of a presentation on Tuesday, by Marketing Greece, ahead of the boot Düsseldorf 46th International Boat Show, which runs through to January 25 in Germany.
The new legal framework for pleasure yachts also topped the agenda at the annual trade show, which attracts over 250,000 visitors and hosts 1,650 exhibitors from 60 countries.
“The expansion and upgrade of Greek marinas is a key factor for the development of yachting and marine tourism in Greece,” Greek Marinas Association president Stavros Katsikadis said during the presentation.
“Greece, with its islands, the archipelago, its light and way of life, is the most beautiful place in the world for sea travel. In view of the new yachting-friendly legal framework, we invite everyone to visit our country. We will make every effort to make Greece the international center of marine tourism,” said SETE (Greek Tourism Confederation) secretary general and Marketing Greece board member George Vernicos.
During the boat show, visitors will have the chance to participate in the “Greece, Big Blue” competition, a joint initiative of Vernicos Yachts and Marketing Greece. Winners will have the chance to sail Greece for six days on a luxury boat.
Founded in 2013, Marketing Greece is a non-governmental organization active in the promotion of Greece and its tourism product.
