The upscale Glyfada coastal district in southern Athens will get a 6.5 million euro facelift thanks to four projects financed under the new National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) 2014-2020.

The four projects were recently included in the public investments program and will be carried out by the Municipality of Glyfada.

The projects, part of an overall plan to upgrade the district, includes the redevelopment of the Glyfada shopping area, the operation of four electric buses, biowaste collection and management and the operation of electric vehicle charging stations.

The shopping area’s redevelopment includes new walkways, a bike lane, more trees, flower beds, new lighting installations and the bioclimatic upgrade of Metaxas Street.
