Let’s Do the Swing… at Athens International Airport
It’s all about “dancing on air” when Greek swingsters Lindy Hop check in at Athens International Airport (AIA) on Friday, as part of its ongoing Music Port series of events.
Music Port is part of “Fly Me to the Moon”, a joint project between AIA and music and culture website elculture, featuring up-and-coming artists and bands who treat incoming and outgoing passengers to music and fun.
The swing is the latest trend in Greece, and Lindy Hop, which also organizes classes, workshops, parties, performances and other events, will perform swing dances from the 20s to the 40s in costume.
An American dance that emerged in Harlem, Lindy Hop is a fusion of jazz, tap, breakaway and Charleston.
The January 16 event starts at 1.30pm. Admission is free.
