FoodTouristica Show Casts Spotlight on Greek Culinary Tourism
Greek gastronomy, the Mediterranean Diet and its products – olive oil, wines and masticha – will be the focus of the 2015 Med FoodTouristica show to be held on May 15-17 at the former Hellenikon airport.
At the same time, the 7th Eleotechnia expo brings the country’s leading producers, distributors, retailers, importers, coops, oil-producers, oil-pressers, merchants, exporters and connoisseurs together to share and inform on the latest in the olive oil producing sector.
In the meantime, the Aristion 2015 Extra Virgin Olive Oil quality contest will award the finest production of the year.
Organizers of the three parallel events underline the need for consistent quality and efficient far-reaching promotion and aim through the shows to utilize Greek food traditions and products to promote culinary tourism to Greece through targeted actions.
In this direction, FoodTouristica show aims to provide a common ground where producers and providers can present their products and services in efforts to build bonds and establish a consistent and attractive tourist product, which will draw in visitors and boost the economy.
Besides the workshops, demos, tasting events, mystery dinners and seminars, the show will also feature alternative forms of tourism including religious, oenological and ecotourism.
