Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) claimed two awards at this year’s World Travel Awards (WTA), including the coveted title of World’s Leading Boutique Hotel Brand for the third year in a row. The WTA were held earlier this month on the island of Anguilla in the Caribbean.
SLH also won the title of World’s Leading Luxury Hotel Brand Website, an accolade the brand has held for three consecutive years since 2012 and once before that in 2009.
“It’s a great honor to again be named the World’s Leading Boutique Hotel Brand as well as World’s Leading Luxury Hotel Website,” Paul Kerr, CEO for SLH, said.
“I am very proud of the work we’ve done this year and it’s also wonderful to see our hard-working SLH properties awarded for their commitment to excellence at such a high-profile award ceremony.”
Heralded as the “travel industry’s equivalent to the Oscar’s”, the awards are decided through a global vote by more than 500,000 travel professionals and high-end tourism consumers from 171 countries.
SLH was not alone in its success at this year’s World Travel Awards which saw four hotels within the SLH portfolio collect awards.
London’s Dukes St James Hotel was named World’s Leading Classic Hotel for the third consecutive year. Hotel Les Ottomans in Turkey collected World’s Leading All Suite Hotel & Spa and World’s Leading Boutique Villa Resort was collected by Eagles Nest. The prestigious World’s Leading Boutique Resort was collected by Pacific Resort Aitutaki.
