’Tis the Season for Food and Fun at this Year’s ‘Greece, Festival, Flavors’ Fest
It’s all about food and fun at this year’s “Greece, Festival, Flavors” Christmas festival set to take place on 5-7 December at the HELEXPO Maroussi exhibition center.
Featuring 140 Greek producers and their select products, dozens of acclaimed chefs, wine experts, journalists, connoisseurs and foodies, the 4th Greece, Festival, Flavors Christmas fest is ready to usher in the holiday season.
Visitors will have the opportunity to sample but also partake in the wide variety of parallel events, which include cooking classes for adults and kids, tasting sessions on everything from wine and cheese to cold cuts and honey, and workshops on wine and its glass to the secrets of the best macaron. Even the street food of Agias Irinis Square, the trendiest spot in Athens as of late, will have its moment of fame at the event.
The highlight of the festival will be a makeshift restaurant and patisserie where Grande Bretagne chef Sotiris Evangelou treats visitors to Christmas tidbits inspired by traditional Greek cuisine.
The event is organized by the Athinorama city guide, which has for over three decades focused on the dedicated promotion of Greek culinary developments. The Athinorama tasting committee selected the products on show for their overall quality. Visitors will have the chance to vote for the best products. The three winners will be presented with the People’s Choice Award.
- Opening hours: 5 December 4pm-9pm, 6 December 10am-9pm, 7 December 10am-9pm. Admission 6 euros, three-day pass 10 euros, kids under 12 free.
