Distinguished Speakers Set for Digi.travel Conference and Expo 2014 in Athens

digi_travelTravel Media Applications has announced that the agenda and speakers for its second edition of the e-tourism conference Digi.travel have been finalized.

This year’s conference will include an exhibition in which travel technology related companies will showcase their solutions, tools and services to hoteliers, travel agencies and other tourism professionals.

Digi.travel will host a number of distinguished speakers who will highlight the latest trends and developments in e-tourism.

Among the distinguished speakers are: Gianluca Laterza, Manager Italy, Malta, Greece & Cyprus/Tripadvisor; Martin Soler, SVP Sales & Marketing of WIPH, who will analyze the topic “How Internet users find your hotel, how do they book, what can you do to improve your direct booking success”; Alex Barros, VP Sales EMEA of Duetto who will present a revenue management strategy; Dimitris Kossyfas, Google Travel Manager, who will speak about the role of Google in the promotion and distribution of the tourism product and analyze new tools & developments; Daniel Shemi from IATA Headquarters, Sales & Marketing – Europe, Russia & CIS, who will present IATA solutions for the travel industry; Matt Komorowski, Sales Director of Paypal who will analyze the risks and the opportunities in a cashless world; Duncan Barraclough, Head of Online, Western Europe – Travelport, who will deliver a speech on “Redefining the online journey”; and Vangelis Panagiotis, Development Director of MKG, who will speak about the issue of Smart Data for the right strategic decisions.

The keynote speaker of the second Digi.travel conference will be John Fotis who will deliver a speech titled “The Crystal Ball” positioning the future of the digital tourism.

Mr. Fotis will analyze issues about the rise of the meta-search, the big data, the domination of Google in online search, the rise of mobile use etc.

A very interesting presentation on innovation in the travel industry will be given by Stavros Sindakis, Innovation Strategist from Bangkok University and Alketas Malioukis, Online Sales Manager of Sabre, will help delegates use technology in order to differentiate their online business.

In addition, Takis Vamialis from IAB Hellas will inform delegates on digital advertising and also show them how to maximize the ROI. Conclusions will be presented by Professor Marianna Sigala from the Aegean University.

The Digi.travel Conference and Expo will be held 5-6 December 2014 during the International Tourism Fair Greek Tourism Expo 2014 at the exhibition center Athens Metropolitan Expo.

Entrance to the conference is free for all members of the travel industry as well as for the technology providers. The official language of the conference will be English.
