Spetses, Greece, Attracts Over 10,000 Visitors For 4th Mini Marathon – Photo Report
More than 10,000 visitors, athletes and journalists from Greece and abroad gathered from 10 to 12 October on the island of Spetses for the fourth edition of the Spetses Mini Marathon.
The Spetses Mini Marathon introduced three new races this year. The new 10K run, the non-competitive My First Spetses mini Marathon (500m run) for infants and pre-school kids (accompanied by their parents), as well as the full Kosta-Spetses (3.000m) swimming competition, were added to a total number of 8 events for 2014. Participants included Olympic and international champions.
Each course and event was chosen and planned in order to highlight the natural and architectural beauty, as well as the rich culture of Spetses.

– 3000m. (Kosta-Spetses) – Swimming
– 5000m. (Spetses-Kosta-Spetses) – Swimming
– Kids’ 0-5 years 500m – Running
– Kids’ 6-12 years 1000m – Running
– Kids’ 8-12 years 150m – Swimming
Other events included a guided tour at the Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses and a feast – free for all participants – with local pies and other delicacies served with ouzo and tsipouro, prepared by the women of Spetses.
The marathon was organized by Communication Lab and held under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organization and the Municipality of Spetses.
It should be noted that Spetses Mini Marathon was named National Champion 2014/15 for Greece in the category RSM Entrepreneur of the Year by the European Business Awards.
