Meliá Hotel In Greece A Member Of TripAdvisor GreenLeaders Program In Europe

The Meliá Athens is one of the 67 hotels operated by Meliá Hotels International that form part of the TripAdvisor GreenLeaders program in Europe thanks to its sustainable business practices.

The GreenLeaders program distinguishes hotels that meet the Sustainability Policy standards set by TripAdvisor.

The sustainable business practices of the hotels of Meliá Hotels International in Spain, Germany, Greece, France, UK, Luxembourg, Portugal and Italy, include reusing sheets and towels, raising awareness, training, recycling, efficient use of resources, etc.

Up to March, the GreenLeaders program was only available in the United States. In March 2014, Meliá Hotels International expressed its desire to take part in the program given its alignment with the company Sustainability Strategy as a lever for creating value and an important factor in the differentiation of its hotels.

The program evaluates the integrated approach of hotels to environmentally-friendly practices and classifies them based on different participation levels (bronze, silver, gold and platinum), displayed prominently on the hotel page on the TripAdvisor website.

Travelers will thus have more information about the Meliá hotels’ commitment to Sustainability within the TripAdvisor GreenLeaders program.

The TripAdvisor GreenLeaders program has been developed in collaboration with the United Nations Program for the Environment, the USA Green Building Council, The ENERGY STAR program and the International Center for Responsible Tourism Canada, among other important environmental organizations.
