The second edition of the European Conference on Shipping, Intermodalism and Ports (ECONSHIP) 2015 – will take place on Chios, Greece, during 24-27 June 2015. The island, famous for its “maritime tradition” and the close ties with the shipping industry, offers a unique traditional maritime environment in the heart of the Aegean Sea.
The theme of the Conference is “Shipping and Ports at Crossroads: Competition, Global Sourcing and Regulatory Challenges.”
Following the successful edition of 2011, leading international academics from all over the world are expected to discuss in academic sessions, the prospects of shipping, shipping finance, human resources management, maritime technology, the environmental challenges, safety and security, intermodalism and ports, maritime education, logistics, and risk as well as other key areas of interest to modern maritime transport systems. The three-day program will also include major industry sessions where keynote speakers will address issues of major importance for the contemporary shipping world.
ECONSHIP 2015 is an International Association of Maritime Economics (IAME) regional event and is organised under the auspices of the Hellenic Association of Maritime Economists (HAME).
The Conference is organized by the Research in Shipping and Ports laboratory (RESHIP) of the Department of Shipping, Trade and Transport, University of the Aegean and will be held at the “Maria Tsakos Foundation” International Centre of Maritime Research and Tradition.
