Greece To Launch Undergraduate Tourism Program For Foreign Students
The Greek ministries of Education and Tourism will cooperate to launch an undergraduate tourism program for students from abroad, according to a joint statement.
Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and Education Minister Andreas Loverdos held a meeting on 25 August and discussed organizational and institutional issues regarding the new program.
Also present at the meeting were the deans of the universities of Crete and the Aegean, Evripidis Stefanou and Paris Tsartas, and the special advisor to the Tourism Ministry and chairman of the Greek Open University, Harry Kokossis.
During the meeting, Mrs. Kefalogianni highlighted the dynamics of Greek tourism and the need to develop university-level studies at major tourist destinations.
Another meeting between the two ministers has been scheduled for September, during which further details on the undergraduate tourism program will be announced.
