Emirates recently announced that it will introduce a fourth daily flight between Dubai and Johannesburg effective 26 October 2014, lifting to seven the number of daily flights to South Africa.

The addition boosts Emirates’ total number of scheduled flights between the two countries to 49 a week, re-affirming its position as one of the largest flight operators into South Africa.

In addition to Johannesburg, Emirates also services the popular cities of Cape Town and Durban. Linking South Africa with Emirates’ global network, the seven daily flights demonstrate the importance of the South African market for Emirates.

More connectivity options will now be provided for Emirates customers, especially those from the GCC, Middle East, the UK, USA, Germany and France. The fourth daily flight will also enhance connection convenience for outbound passengers going to India, Pakistan, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangkok and Jordan, Qatar and Iran.

Expands code-share partnership with South African Airways

South_African_AirlinesEmirates and South African Airways will extend its code-share partnership to include the brand new service between Dubai and Johannesburg – currently South African Airways code-shares on all Emirates flights to and from South Africa.

Operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, EK767 will depart Dubai at 2320hrs and arrive at Johannesburg at 0535hrs the following day. The return flight, EK768 departs Johannesburg at 0930hrs and arrives in Dubai at 1940hrs. The B777-300ER features 354 seats in a three-class configuration – eight seats in First Class, 42 in Business Class and 304 in Economy Class.

Emirates’ footprint in 2014 will grow and include launches into Chicago (5 August), Oslo (2 September), Brussels (5 September) and Budapest (27 October) after Taipei and Boston were launched earlier in the year.
