The Greek Tourism Ministry and the Municipality of Athens are getting ready to welcome TBEX 2014, the world’s largest gathering of travel bloggers and writers, in the Greek capital this October.
In a meeting held on 8 July in Athens, Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis focused on the cooperations and partnerships that will launch between the ministry and the municipality ahead of the big event.
TBEX is a three-day event, during which a series of meetings, educational seminars and presentations will take place with the participation of internationally renowned experts, social media influencers and celebrities.
The event is accompanied by a rich program of social events and activities that showcase the host destination.
TBEX 2014 will take place 23-25 October at the Megaron Athens International Conference Center under the organization of the Municipality of Athens and support of the Greek National Tourism Organization.
Also, during the meeting, Mrs. Kefalogianni and Mr. Kaminis agreed on an even closer cooperation so that Athens will become an independent tourism destination to markets abroad.
Last month, 185,000 more arrivals were recorded in Athens than in June 2013, according to data from Athens International Airport. During the first six months of the year, international arrivals increased by 18.6 percent compared with the same period in 2013.
