The Tourism Ministry and the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels will cooperate for the launch of a Tourism Satellite Account in Greece, according to Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni.
Mrs. Kefalogianni made the announcement while speaking at the chamber’s Board meeting on 30 June.
The Tourism Satellite Account will provide accurate data for inbound and outbound tourism in Greece and also monitor and evaluate tourism policies through the flow of statistical data.
Draft bill for tourism
Mrs. Kefalogianni also referred to the draft bill tabled in Parliament recently by the Greek Tourism Ministry. The draft bill includes provisions for the efficient operation of hotel complexes and condo hotels and also introduces faster procedures for hotels, campsites and lodgings to obtain the special operational seal.
“The new draft bill aims for the upgrade of the Tourism Ministry and the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), to simplify procedures for tourism accommodation and develop entrepreneurship,” Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni informed.
