Aegean Airlines Honored For Corporate Social Responsibility Program
Greek carrier Aegean Airlines was honored this year with the Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the “ACCI 2014 Awards” of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry held recently in Athens. The awards recognize the best businesses and entrepreneurs in Greece.
The award was presented to Aegean Airlines in recognition of its strategic decision to systematically invest in Corporate Responsibility.
“With all available means, Aegean supports the Greek society through its unreserved offer in culture, sport and education, but also through continuous social and environmental action,” said Theodore Vassilakis, chairman of Aegean Airlines.
The Greek carrier has implemented a series of actions designed to showcase the cultural heritage of Greece, develop tourism, support education, promote sport, adopt environmentally friendly practices and support socially vulnerable groups.
“Since the company’s launch, actions of social responsibility have been an essential part of its corporate philosophy and our activity on this matter is ceaseless,” Mr. Vassilakis added.
Aegean Airlines is a Star Alliance member and was honored with the Skytrax World Airline Award as Best European regional airline for 2013.
