The Greek capital is getting ready to welcome the travel blogger community this Autumn

tbex_europe_tnThis October, Athens will host TBEX Europe 2014, the world’s largest gathering of travel bloggers, writers, new media content creators, and social media savvy travel industry professionals.

TBEX is a three-day event, during which a series of meetings, educational seminars and presentations will take place with the participation of internationally renowned experts, social media influencers and celebrities.

The event is accompanied by a rich program of social events and activities that showcase the host destination.

According to the conference director of TBEX, Mary Jo Manzanares, the Greek capital has the editorial content that the attendees of TBEX are looking for, from history to culinary to family-friendly and more.

“The travel bloggers and writers are looking for diversity in all that can be discovered in a city,” Mrs. Manzanares, told GTP.

The choice of Athens to host the TBEX event this year is considered an extremely important development for the city’s placement and image within the international travel and tourism industry.

Mrs. Manzanares underlined that the fact that TBEX will take place in a city that is coming out of tough times is perfect timing for the destination.

“This is one of those situations where you have a great destination, you have a lot of things people are going to want to do there and you really have motivation on the part of the officials to say: This is a chance to turn the corner, and put this to rest – We’re here, we’re open for business, come and visit,” the conference director of TBEX added.

Destinations that host TBEX, receive enormous and immediate promotion through all online platforms for social and professional networking, which aggregate hundreds of millions of views, reports and posts, before, during and after the meeting.
