Costa Cruises Records Increase In Greek Passenger Numbers In 2013
Italian cruise line Costa Cruises saw a major increase in bookings made by Greek travelers in 2013.
According to Orange Cruises Hellas, 3,800 Greeks were among the passengers of the cruises carried out by Costa Cruises from Piraeus last year. Orange Cruises Hellas is Costa Cruises’ general sales agent for Greece.
Speaking during a recent event onboard the Costa Magica cruise ship, Yiorgos Paliouras, general manager of Orange Cruises Hellas, said that this year the company would continue to invest in departures from Piraeus Port.
“We believe that growth in cruise for both inbound and outbound tourism will come from homeporting,” Mr.Paliouras said.
The event was held on the occasion of the first departure of the Costa Magica cruise ship for the 2014 summer season from Piraeus to the Adriatic and Aegean.
Orange Cruises Hellas was honored by Costa Cruises with the “Best Increasing Partner 2013” award at the 20th edition of “The Champions of the Sea,” an annual event dedicated to the company’s best travel partners.
