Greek Gastronomy: A Memorable Travel Experience – HORECA Event
Greek gastronomy will be focused on as a “memorable travel experience” at an event taking place in the parallel events section of the 9th International Hotel, Restaurant and Cafe Show HORECA on 8 February 2014 at the Athens Metropolitan Expo.
The Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE) will hold the event and once again promote the initiative that sees gastronomy united with the marketing of Greek tourism.
The event will include an open and productive discussion on the competitive advantages of Greek gastronomy for the creation of a memorable travel experience.
Welcoming addresses will be given by the general director of SETE, Alexandros Lamnidis, and the managing director of Marketing Greece, Iosif Parsalis.
Speakers will include: Elias Mamalakis, publisher/director of OLIVE gastronomy magazine, journalist, culinary advisor; Platonas Marlafekas, marketing director, Loux; Minas Mavrikakis, communications and corporate affairs director of Athenian Brewery; Dina Nikolaou, chef, cookbook author, co-owner of Evi Evane Restaurant & Traiteur; George Pittas, hotelier, Board Member of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels & head of the “Greek Breakfast” project; Christos Sokolis, founder of Food Concepts marketing firm, shareholder in the Fresh Pastry shops chain; and Nikos Fotiadis, chef, vice president of the Pierian Gastronomy Institute.
The discussion will be coordinated by Deni Kallivoka, culinary journalist.
At a time when Greek tourism is in the spotlight, SETE is calling professionals to unite and enhance the country’s travel experience through a powerful competitive advantage: gastronomy, in all its aspects.
