Greek travel agents were informed on the advantages of the European Commission-funded project TOURISMlink, an online platform that aims to modernize the tourism value chain and offer small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the travel sector a better position in the global tourism market. The project is currently in its pilot stage.
The presentation was carried out by the project managers of TOURISMlink, Paolina Marone and Francois Xavier Peers, at the office of the Hellenic Association of Travel & Tourist Agencies (HATTA) in Athens.
The goal of TOURISMlink is to facilitate and accelerate the digital connection between smaller local service providers in the broader tourism industry (hospitality, tourism, culture and leisure), and with larger travel agents, tour operators and distributors.
According to the project managers, this will allow tourism enterprises to improve their competitiveness and respond better and quicker to the evolving market needs of more tailor-made, personalized tourism products.
HATTA, as a member of the European Travel Agents & Tour Operators Association (ECTAA), has secured the participation of its members during the online platform’s pilot stage.
