Kefalogianni Discusses Prospects For Greek–Argentine Economic Cooperation

Eduardo ZuainThe prospects for an economic cooperation between Greece and Argentina were discussed in a meeting held on 13 November in Buenos Aires between Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and Argentine Deputy Foreign Minister Eduardo Zuain.

Mrs. Kefalogianni is currently on an official visit to Argentina to promote Greece in the Latin American market.

During the meeting, she informed Mr. Zuain on the efforts made by the Greek Government and the Greek people for the country’s exit from the economic crisis.

Strengthening tourism relations

The main purpose of Mrs. Kefalogianni’s meeting with the Argentine deputy foreign minister was to discuss ways to improve the tourism relations between Greece and Argentina.

Greece considers Latin America an important market, one with very encouraging prospects.

The two ministers discussed the visa issue and the possibility of a direct air connection between Athens and Buenos Aires.

Mrs. Kefalogianni told Mr. Zuain that Greece is a country extremely popular with residents of Latin America and specifically from Argentina, Brazil and Chile.

The Greek tourism minister also met with her Argentine counterpart, Carlos Enrique Meyer, and signed a joint declaration of cooperation in the field of tourism.
