Gay Friendly Greek Hotels Go To WTM 2013

WTMdestsetters_IMG_1682_Gay friendly Greek and Cypriot prestigious hotels will be represented and promoted to the International LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans Gender) travel market by destination development company Destsetters at this year’s World Travel Market in London (4-7 November).

The hotels Destsetters will represent this year include the Sensimar Royal Blue Resort & Spa in Rethymnon, the Thalassa Beach Resort in Chania, Aqua Vista hotels and the Canaves Oia on Santorini, the legendary St Raphael Resort in Limassol, Cyprus, and the Mykonos Theoxenia located in Greece’s most attractive destination for gay travelers: Mykonos.

The company will soon introduce new segments to the gay travel market that will focus on gastronomy, wellness & spa and luxury while a new trend in tourism will also be highlighted through the innovative concept of Destsetters-Travel by Interest.

Destsetters runs the only complete marketing program globally for effectively developing, positioning and promoting hotels and tourism companies towards the LGBT travel market.

At WTM 2013, Destsetters will represent hotels and destinations from 12 countries from its stand in the Global Village. The Global Village covers travel and tourism businesses with a global presence, such as major hotel chains, industry organizations, educational institutions and ground transport.

Greece is a popular hotspot for gay travel

gay_guys_hotelGreece is included in the top 10 most desired gay destinations globally for 2013, according to a report released by Out Now Business Class, the world’s leading LGBT business networking membership association.

Athens also made its appearance in the same report as a favored “gay city destination” in the top 10 cities of Europe.

Out Now’s recent research showed that the total tourism spend by LGBT travelers globally would exceed $165 billion. The LGBT travel market accounts for some 15 percent of international arrivals worldwide.
