Athens: Black Sea Tourism B2B Event Set To Launch

Athens_11Selected tour operators, trade representatives and top buyers of the European tourism market will be in Athens, Greece, 10-11 October to participate in the Black Sea Tourism Forum & Workshop that will be held at the Acropolis Museum.

Black Sea Tourism Forum & WorkshopThe Black Sea Tourism Forum & Workshop is a business event (B2B) that aims to increase the flow of tourists from countries of the wider Black Sea region (Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, etc.) to Athens and Greece, as well as to develop a cooperation platform for the tourism market of the 12 countries comprising the zone of activity of the UNDP Black Sea Trade & Investment Program (Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine)

During the event, suppliers will have the chance to showcase their services and products and meet individually qualified international buyers personally in pre–arranged meetings.

Some 40 Selected Hosted Buyers (officials and representatives of tour operators, travel agencies, etc.) and over 60 Suppliers have confirmed their participation in the Black Sea Tourism Forum & Workshop.

A comprehensive program of social events fostering familiarity with Athens as a tourism destination has been designed especially for hosted buyers.

In addition, a workshop will be held to bring together representatives of international agencies and organizations including the UNDP BSTIP Program Manager and the President of the Affiliated Members of UNWTO. In parallel, a conference titled Digi.Travel will take place in cooperation with Travel Media Applications.

International organizations are supporting the workshop such as the World Youth Student & Educational Travel Association (WYSE), the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), the Romanian Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT), The International EcoTourism Society (TIES) and the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB).

The Black Sea Tourism Forum & Workshop is a joint initiative of the City of Athens and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) under the coordination of the Development and Tourism Promotion Company of the Municipality of Athens (EATA) as well as the Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB).

The forum is under the auspices of the Greek Tourism Ministry.
