Alpha Estate was selected as “Winery of the Year” for 2013 by Wine & Spirits magazine, one of New York’s leading wine publications.
Τhe prestigious award for Alpha Estate comes in a year when Wine & Spirits magazine celebrates its 10th anniversary of naming the world’s best wineries.
“Alpha Estate’s range of exceptional wines makes it a great ambassador for Greece,” said Joshua Greene, publisher and editor of Wine & Spirits.
The award ceremony will be held in San Francisco on 15 October 2013 at the Hotel City View at METREON.
Wine & Spirits magazine has 23.000 subscribers and a readership of over 200.000 per issue.
Each year in April, Wine & Spirits publishes its Annual Restaurant Poll, where a large number of restaurant wine specialists, from sommeliers to wine buyers, evaluate wines with the best performance per label, variety and country of origin. The 2012 poll included two Alpha Estate labels (from a total of eight Greek wines).
“This important honor, preceded by particularly flattering references and reviews on Alpha Estate wines, from leading international wine authorities, Robert Parker (Mark Squires), Jancis Robinson MW OBE (Julia Harding MW), Jeannie Cho Lee MW, Steven Spurrier, James Halliday, Tara Q. Thomas and others, reinforces our creative passion and it gives us courage and strength to support even further our quality efforts in promoting Greek wine at international level,” Alpha Estate said in an announcement.
